No, you can not submit a session previously shared in Mentoring or Observed Coaching. It must be a new session.  A session that includes and considers the feedback you received during Labs, mentoring and coach observation.

Your client should be someone you already have a coaching relationship with. This will allow you to demonstrate presence and trust and intimacy more easily.  

One option is a peer client, from your peer coaching.  The benefit being that they know you, they are coachable, and they understand the purpose of the session.  However, the downside is that they may have a tendency to self coach.  For example, they might ask themselves powerful questions or generate awareness without your intervention. You do not receive credit for the self coaching that your client might potentially do.

There are many different programs you can use to transcribe your session. You might choose to listen and transcribe yourself, use a free program such as Otter.ai, a paid program such as Ebby.com, or source your own program.  Make sure your session has timestamps and identifies the speakers.

Your oral exam is assessed by an ICA qualified assessor. This is a member of faculty who holds a PCC or MCC credential and who has completed the ICF assessor training.  You are not able to select your assessor.

All oral exams will be assessed against the ICF competencies, using the PCC markers to evidence the coaching expertise of ACTP students, and the ACC markers used to evidence the coaching expertise of ACSTH students. Consideration will also be given to the compliance as outlined in the module and audio (eg. time of the session, quality of the transcript etc). The assessor will draw on their professional insights, emotional intelligence and assessment of how the client is impacted by the coaching through the client’s response or reactions.

The assessment will be based on the International Coach Federation core competencies - using the ICF markers as the behavioral indicators for how those competencies show up in a coaching session.  The Core Competencies represent the responsibilities that the coach has in the coaching process.  Level 2 students will be assessed against PCC markers. Level 1 students are assessed against ACC markers. 

Your session will be graded as

If your session is graded as not yet competent, you will have the opportunity to resubmit. Alternatively you can exit the program (graduate) with a lower level certification.
